King St Loft

Located in a historic schoolhouse (for delinquent girls!), the Soho Loft is a 1.5 bedroom apartment that was clad in cheap construction from its conversion in the 1980s. As the budget was under the luxury market standard, the renovation did not rely on luxe finishes, but rather detailing of basic carpentry. Prior to the renovation, the apartment was small in square footage, but featured 14-ft ceilings and large historic windows in the main spaces. In its reconfiguration, tight and unused storage spaces in the loft were reconceptualized as vertical addendums to their adjoining space; and by turning them into unique and highlighted compartments, they have in turn become the focus of the apartment.
